Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about AEO and the AEO Growth Kit platform.
The basics
What is AEO (Answer Engine Optimization)?
AEO is making your business the answer AI gives when buyers ask, rather than just a link that ranks. When someone asks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity or Gemini a question in your space, AEO is about being one of the names it puts forward.
How is AEO different from SEO?
Same discipline, new rulebook. SEO got you ranked on Google; AEO gets you mentioned in the AI answer. The job of working out what the engine wants and giving it that hasn't changed. What the engine wants has. The two work together: businesses that get both right will be strongest in old and new search alike.
Is AEO just SEO with a new name?
No. The goal moved from ranking a page to being named in a generated answer, and the engines read different signals to decide who they mention. Your existing SEO still helps, it just isn't enough on its own anymore.
Do I still need this if I already rank well on Google?
Yes. The page that ranks first on Google is often not the one AI names. Ranking well doesn't mean you're being recommended in AI answers, and more buyers start with AI every month.
Will AI replace Google and search?
It's already changing how people search. Most buyers now ask AI first and validate later, so being in that first answer matters more all the time.
Is AEO relevant for my business?
If your buyers ask AI for recommendations, it's relevant. That covers most businesses that win customers online, including:
- B2B SaaS and software
- Consultants, coaches and professional services
- EdTech and online education
- E-commerce and retail
- Healthcare, wellness and hospitality
The earlier you start, the better placed you are before competitors catch on. A focused niche usually makes it easier, not harder.
What AI actually rewards
What does "getting mentioned" actually mean?
Your business named or recommended in the answer an AI gives a buyer, rather than buried on page two. In an AI answer there is no page two: you're either in the handful of names it gives, or you're not.
What is EEAT and why does AI care about it?
EEAT is experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trust — Google's own quality framework. The AI engines lean on the same signals, so they mention content that proves real experience and expertise, and skip generic filler that doesn't.
Why does generic AI content get ignored by AI?
The models have learned to skip recycled filler with no real expertise behind it. What gets mentioned is a precise, useful answer to a specific question, from someone who actually knows the subject. Volume isn't the point. Usefulness is.
Which AI models does this work across?
ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini — the four that shape most buyer answers today.
How AEO Growth Kit works
How does AEO Growth Kit work?
Three connected steps. Recover finds where you stand and fixes the technical foundations. Build creates the content that gets you mentioned. Maintain tracks your progress month to month. The AI Mirror Test runs through all three.
What is the AI Mirror Test?
It asks 50 to 60 questions your ideal customers would ask, across the four big models, and counts where you're named and where you're not. That gives you one honest read on how often AI mentions you, and turns the gaps into your content plan.
What is Voiceprint™?
Voiceprint™ is the content engine inside Build — and copying your voice is the least of it. It helps you land a unique angle, bring in your real expertise and experience, and back it with research and trusted citations, the substance AI rewards. Then it writes in your voice with the AEO structure the models like and uploads the draft to your WordPress, all with very little lift from you.
How is this different from me using ChatGPT to write content?
A ChatGPT blog gives you generic filler the models ignore, even when it sounds like you. Build produces a precise, expertise-backed answer with a real angle, structured and sourced so AI will mention it.
Do I need a developer to use it?
No. The audit hands you cut-and-paste fixes written for your pages, and the content publishes straight to WordPress. If you'd rather not touch any of it, a done-for-you service is available — book a call for a quote.
Getting started and results
How do I get started?
Run the free 5-page audit to see where you stand today. When you're ready, full access unlocks the whole-site audit, the full AI Mirror Test and Voiceprint™.
How long until I see results?
It depends where you start. Technical fixes can lift your readiness quickly. Getting mentioned more in AI answers takes longer, because you publish content and the models pick it up over weeks and months. You re-run the Mirror Test each month, so you watch the trend move rather than guess.
Do I still need to do SEO as well?
Yes, they reinforce each other. Much of good AEO (clear structure, real expertise, accurate information) also helps your SEO. They aren't competing strategies.
What do I need to provide?
Your website, a sense of who your buyers are, and some examples of how you sound — existing content, or transcripts of you talking — so Voiceprint™ can learn your voice. For the Top Pages Audit, you connect Google Search Console and Analytics.
Pricing and support
Is there a free trial?
The free 5-page audit is your trial. Run it, see where you stand, then decide. No countdown, no card.
How does pricing work?
One simple subscription, full access. Founding pricing is $99/mo for the first 30 members, locked as the price rises to $199 at launch. No tiers to decode.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. It's month to month, cancel whenever you like, no cancellation fees.
Can you just do it all for me?
Full access is self-serve, with cut-and-paste fixes you apply yourself. If you'd rather hand the whole thing over, a full done-for-you service is available. Book a call for a quote. It's separate from full access.
What do you connect to, and is my data safe?
You connect your own WordPress for publishing, and Google Search Console and Analytics for the Top Pages Audit. Your data stays yours; it isn't sold or shared.
